  • 4 burger buns (buttered and toasted)

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create cutlets and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Whisk together buttermilk and hot sauce in one bowl; mix flour, cornstarch, and spices in another.
  3. Dredge chicken in the flour mixture, dip in the buttermilk mixture, then back into the flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil to 350ºF and fry chicken for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown; ensure internal temperature reaches 165ºF.
  5. Combine hot oil with brown sugar and spices to make the Nashville hot sauce; baste fried chicken while hot.
