  • 1 tbsp canola oil

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice apple vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 4 tsp corn starch
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 46 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg white
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter by mixing flour, corn starch, baking powder, egg white, and water in a bowl until smooth. Coat chicken strips evenly with the batter.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to medium heat (about 350°F) and fry the chicken strips in batches until golden brown (approximately 5 minutes).
  3. Remove cooked chicken with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. For the sauce, whisk together canola oil, salt, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, honey, corn starch, and water in a separate bowl.
  5. Cook the sauce over medium heat until it thickens, then toss the fried chicken pieces in the sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
