  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and sour cream to the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently mix in milk until smooth.
  7. For the swirl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; drizzle in melted butter to form a paste.
  8. Fill each liner with batter, add the swirl mixture on top, then swirl gently with a toothpick.
